The perfect “super soluble fibre feed” for all alpacas, llamas and camels.

A very high quality “super soluble fibre feed”, derived from a blend of micronized (sugar) beet pulp, hemp seed and lean black oats; fortified with seaweed meal, chelated minerals and Oatinol®.

  • Contains 4 beneficial active ingredients.

  • Provides a source of digestible soluble fibres.

  • Maintains essential foregut microbial fermentation.

  • Sustains beneficial fibre-digesting bacteria.

  • Provides energy for health and conditioning.

  • Provides natural trace elements and bio-available minerals.

  • Provides the perfect partner for Camelibra NG*.

  • Contains the Oatinol Delivery System to maintain a healthy digestive tract and a high rate of absorption of essential nutricines, vitamins and trace elements.

  • Provides the perfect partner for Camelibra NG-1.

  • Manufactured as very palatable 3mm pellets.

Maintaining natural foregut digestion is crucial for the health and vitality of Alpacas and Llamas. The nature of the feed can have dramatic effects on wellbeing, as all food goes straight into the fermentation vat of the forestomach where factors like motility, gas eructation, regurgitation, remastication and reswallowing are all part of the normal feeding process. Fibregest is very complementary to this digestive process in terms of the nutritional, physical and supplementary content. The digestibility of the soluble fibre will energize microbial activity, so maintaining a high rate of nutrient release for the benefit of the camelid.

The criteria for maintaining functional fermentation :

  • A constant pH of between 6 and 7, i.e. slightly acidic to neutra conditions.

  • A high fibre and low/non grain diet to sustain populations of cellulolytic bugs.

  • A high fibre diet to maintain saliva production, gut motility and gas eructation.

  • A high fibre diet to maximise regurgitation, remastication and reswallowing.

Soluble fibre in 3mm pellet form is ideal for both young and old alike. The fact that the particle size is small (as if it had been chewed for a long time) aids the digestive system of the camelid by providing a high quality, more available, energy source for fermentative foregut bacteria.

Contains the Oatinol® Delivery System

For all of the above active ingredients to be utilised, they have to be absorbed from the camelids’ digestive tract. Oatinol supplies natural antioxidants, polar lipids, beta glucans and galactolipid emulsifiers, required to maintain gut cell integrity, maintain the lining of the gut, support the immune system and aid the absorption of active ingredients, vitamins and trace elements.

Active Ingredient

Why We Use It

Oatinol - Galactolipid Natural Emulsifiers

Galactolipids are a combination of sugar and fat molecules that help establish the perfect medium for enzyme activity in the gut to absorb feed components.

Oatinol - Natural
Tocotrienol Antioxidants

Tocotrienol antioxidants are found naturally in oat bran. This tocotrienol form of vitamin E is 40 to 60 times more readily recycled in membrane systems and supports tissue integrity.

Oatinol - Oat Derived
Beta Glucans

Beta glucans provide nourishment for beneficial fibre degrading microbes and helps maintain a high level of natural immunity.

Oatinol - Polar Lipids

Polar lipids are found in high concentrations in cell membranes and are essential for tissue integrity and the controlled passage of materials into and out of cells.
